What is Abenteuer Travel Club?

Abenteuer Travel Club is East Africa's curated experience club — we design and manage premium journeys across Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania and Rwanda for corporate groups, honeymooners, students, families, solo travellers and friend groups. "Abenteuer" means adventure, and that's our promise: every trip is built around genuine, immersive experiences rather than a generic itinerary off a shelf.

How is Abenteuer different from a regular tour operator?

We go beyond the standard safari circuit. While wildlife experiences remain at our heart, we layer in lifestyle elements — boutique stays, culinary experiences, wellness retreats, cultural immersions and curated nightlife — so your trip reflects your interests, not just a checklist of parks.

Which countries and regions do you operate in?

Our home base spans Uganda and Kenya, with regular itineraries extending into Tanzania, Rwanda and the wider East African region. If you have a destination in mind that isn't listed on our site, reach out — chances are we can build it.

Do you only organise safaris?

Not at all. Safaris are a cornerstone, but our portfolio also includes honeymoon escapes, corporate retreats and team-building trips, student exchange and educational tours, family holidays, and solo or group adventure travel — each tailored to the traveller.

How do I get started with planning a trip?

How do I book a trip with Abenteuer Travel Club?

Once you've confirmed your itinerary and quote with our team, we'll send you a booking confirmation and payment instructions. Your booking is secured once your deposit is received and processed through our payment partner.

What payment methods do you accept?

All payments are made securely online via our payment portal, which accepts major cards and mobile money options. You'll receive a unique payment link for your booking, and a receipt is issued automatically once payment clears.

Do you offer payment plans or instalments?

Yes. Most trips can be secured with a deposit, with the balance split into instalments leading up to your departure date. Your travel confidant will outline a payment schedule tailored to your trip when you receive your quote.

Is my deposit refundable?

Deposit and refund terms vary depending on the trip, season and any third-party suppliers (such as lodges, airlines or park authorities) involved. Full terms are shared with your booking confirmation, and our team is happy to talk you through them before you commit.

Are flights included in the price?

International flights are typically arranged separately unless stated otherwise in your quote. Domestic flights, transfers, park fees, accommodation and listed activities are detailed clearly in your itinerary so there are no surprises.

What experiences can I expect on a typical trip?

It depends entirely on your trip type. Wildlife lovers can expect game drives, gorilla and chimpanzee trekking, and birding excursions. Honeymooners might enjoy private dinners and spa retreats. Corporate groups often combine team activities with leisure time. Every itinerary is built around the experiences that matter most to you.

Can trips be customised, or are they fixed packages?

Customisation is at the core of what we do. While we have signature itineraries as a starting point, almost every detail — pace, accommodation level, activities, dietary needs and group dynamics — can be adjusted to fit you.

What's the best time of year to visit East Africa?

East Africa is a year-round destination, but the experience shifts with the seasons. Dry seasons generally offer easier wildlife viewing and gorilla trekking conditions, while the wetter months bring lush landscapes, fewer crowds and lower rates. Our team will recommend timing based on what you most want to see.

Do you cater to solo travellers and small groups?

Absolutely. We regularly organise solo journeys and small-group departures, and can often match solo travellers into existing group trips if you'd like company along the way — or arrange a fully private experience if you'd prefer to go it alone.

We work across a full spectrum, from comfortable mid-range lodges to award-winning luxury camps. Whatever the tier, we vet every property for safety, service quality and location, and will always be transparent about what each option includes.

It's your personal online space where we store your itinerary, booking confirmations, travel documents and payment history in one place — so you always know where things stand and can revisit the details anytime.

How do I set up my account?

Once your booking is confirmed, our team will set up your account and send you an invitation by email with instructions to access your dashboard.

What can I view or manage through my account?

Your account gives you a clear overview of your itinerary day by day, any documents we've shared (such as park permits or confirmation letters), and a record of payments made and amounts outstanding.

Is my information kept secure?

Yes. Your details are handled with care and only used to support your booking and travel arrangements. We don't share your information with third parties beyond what's necessary to deliver your trip.

Who do I contact if I have trouble accessing my account?

Can I reschedule my trip dates?

In most cases, yes — subject to availability with our partner lodges, airlines and park authorities. The earlier you let us know, the more flexibility we typically have. Get in touch as soon as you're aware of a change and we'll explore the best options.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellation terms depend on how far in advance you cancel and the suppliers involved in your specific itinerary, as some — particularly gorilla permits and certain lodges — carry their own non-refundable conditions. Full terms are provided at booking confirmation.

Do you recommend travel insurance?

Yes, strongly. We recommend all travellers arrange comprehensive travel insurance covering medical emergencies, trip cancellation and evacuation before departure. Our team can point you toward reputable providers if you need guidance.

What happens if a flight, lodge or activity changes after booking?

Occasionally, suppliers make adjustments beyond our control — flight schedule shifts, lodge renovations or seasonal closures. When this happens, we'll notify you promptly and arrange a comparable alternative, keeping you informed every step of the way.

Who do I contact during my trip if something goes wrong?

You'll be provided with local emergency contacts for Uganda and Kenya before departure. Our WhatsApp lines (+256 752 397520 for Uganda and +254 704 668353 for Kenya) are monitored throughout your travel dates for exactly this purpose.
